Flash Flooding

I am use to rain.  Living in Washington you did everything in the rain.  But today was no joke.  I have never seen the water come down so hard and fast.  Thus why we got flash flooding on beautiful Fort Irwin.  So in the last month we have been without power once for 36 hours, once for 24 hours, and now a flash flood.  That much water in such a small amount of time is no joke people.  It is pure crazy!!!!

So at first it was all fun and games.  A little rain and lots of fun measuring it in buckets.  Then they started to play in it.  Then there was a river running behind our house or so we thought it was a river.  Little did we know there was an actual flash flood of water running just over the Berm.  Check out the video at the end.

the river is starting to form

all nice and dry enjoying the storm from the safety of our home

he had moved all of the charcoal outside that afternoon.  little did we know how wet it was going to get.

and once your wet you may as well play in the river out back

This is the sidewalk we take to the shopette to get icees.  I could not believe how much water was running through there.

absolutely crazy

so many rainbows this day.  at one point there was a double rainbow

throwing some rocks in our "river"

so many trenches made as the water ran through.

he went to show me how deep it was.  Only at Fort Irwin.  Such adventures.

helping her cross the scary water.  =)
