a little red spot

I noticed a little red spot on Emmalyn while Karen was visiting (April 10) that just showed up over night. She went to bed and the next morning it was there. Well it has continued to grow and we decided it needed to be looked at by a dermatologist. She has diagnosed it as a hemangioma. It is a bunch of capillaries that have gone wild and they are very common in girls. It can potentially grow until she is a year old, and then should start to disappear. Because of where it is at, we are hoping to avoid treatment or surgery and to just let her hair grow over it. We go back in June to see the doctor and to remeasure it. Jeremy and I are so thankful that it is on the top of her head and not her face. We will keep you up to date.

Kaleb was born with one of these on his elbow, it is very big, but after the first yr. it have faded alot, you can see it, but its close to the same color of his regular skin now, it used to be dark red/purple... we are so thankful its faded so much, I dont think we will ever do anything with it, most people never notice it ;)
